Why would users have to convert PDF to Word file when files of both formats are readable? Why take the hassle of changing a format popularly used by many websites into a format conventional to many computer users? There are actually a number of reasons that you just might have to ponder on.

PDF is a popular document format these days. Though PDF is widely known in the virtual world, many users still find it more convenient to use the Word file format. Why? Firstly, the Word file format is quite common, and many users like having the convenience of editing and revising the documents using the application. Secondly, almost all computer users have access to MS Word, particularly if the operating system used is Windows. When you use the PDF format, there is that need to have the program developed by Adobe Systems, just to be able to access the file.

So, why do other computer users still prefer to use the PDF format?

PDF or portable document file is a file format developed by Adobe Systems. When it comes to the transmission and document retrieval of particularly large files, the PDF file is more appropriately used. Moreover, the file format is compatible for two dimensional documents, which include pictures and 2 D vectors graphics, aside from text. Thus, it would make more sense to use the PDF format for these types of files.

Converting PDF to Word file is something that many computer users are concerned about when downloading PDF files from the web. Although these Internet files can be read by opening the PDF format, there are individuals that would prefer these to be in text file format. Given the reasons for converting PDF to Word, the process of conversion would require certain steps, and even certain tools, if the first attempt of conversion does not end up successfully.

Your first attempt of conversion may include changing the file format on the Save As dialog box as you open the PDF file. You may also have to alter the settings by locating the Preferences tool under the Edit menu, if you use Windows. Upon opening the tool, there is a prompt that informs you of converting the PDF file from the list of options in the Categories found at the dialog box. Then, select MS Word document from the scrollable list. Then, locate the window that shows how Acrobat handles the conversion. After doing it, you may have to locate the Edit Settings button and click it to change the settings.

The step by step of converting PDF to Word does not guarantee good results. There are factors that prevent the conversion from successfully happening. But you can still try it and hope for the best conversion there is.

If your attempt to convert PDF to Word file is unsuccessful, you may have to acquire certain utility software that can help in the conversion. These converter applications are not difficult to find, as a list of such product packages is easily found on the Internet. You may also consult an IT person who can help you in this matter. It may be worthwhile to have a friend who has know how on this matter, to avoid costs entailed in consultation and service.
