Freedom of speech is something that affects everyone in the world at some point or another in their lifetime. Literally, it means being able to speak freely without censorship, but it represents so much more than that. The right to freedom of speech is guaranteed by numerous human rights instruments, but the most notable one is an Article in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Many people use the term freedom of expression as well when talking about this topic. This is because the idea of freedom of speech involves so much more than just verbal speech. It also encompasses any act that is seeking, receiving, or imparting information and it does not matter what medium is being used to do this.

Freedom of speech unfortunately is not a finite idea and the degree of it varies greatly from country to country. The very first amendment in the United States grants absolute freedom, but ultimately, it is up to the state to place limitations on it if they see it necessary. This is a tough distinction to make and it has been causing uproars throughout society for decades. People feel that there is such a large gray area in deciding what is permitted and what is not and sometimes, this causes problems for citizens.

One of the most common areas of the world that is constantly being suppressed and denied their freedom of expression is in the adult film industry. Steven Toushin, president and founder of Bijou Video, penned a book about his first hand experiences with these restrictions. In The Destruction of the Moral Fabric of America he discusses the corruption and immorality within the federal government, and the conservative religious agendas that threaten their constitutional rights of freedom of speech. This book is amazing because it speaks to anyone who loves the rights in America and values liberty and is not interested in being bullied politics or religion. Toushin is a man who values individual and sexual freedom and is willing to stand up for Americans in a tell all novel about his life and the things he has been through.

The Destruction of the Moral Fabric of America deals with real life issues that affect people everyday. This book is for anyone who feels they have been restricted and restrained by the right wing extremists in government and would like to read one mans account of how he overcame this oppression.
