Summer is probably the most important season for your hair because it is almost a given that you will be spending a lot of time at the beach soaking up the sun and hanging out with your friends. The heat and humidity will work against you because it will weigh your hair down and make it much harder to manage. This is why it is important to pick the right shampoo for your hair type to be sure that your hair does not suffer in the summer.

One of the most difficult types of hair to control during the summer heat and humidity is curly and wavy hair. It is important to follow the simple hair care tips for the summer to guarantee that you avoid split ends and dried out hair. You should make sure that you trim your hair regularly throughout the summertime because this is the first step to eliminating split ends and damaged hair. If you are feeling daring, then you may want to cut it short for the summer because it will be much more comfortable during the hot days.

If cutting your hair short is not something that interests you then it is a good idea to wear a hat or scarf to protect your hair. Be sure to leave it loose enough though so that there is circulation inside it so that your hair does not get damaged. If you are someone who has longer hair and enjoys wearing it pulled off your face in the summer, then you should try putting it in a bun or some type of knot. This will keep most of it away from any exposure to the harmful direct rays of sun, but will also combat frizz.

Many people think that if your hair is exposed to a lot of sunlight, then you should just run home and shampoo it, but this is not true. If this happens then you should use some type of hair repair mask to restore the moisture in your hair. Also, try to avoid using excessive amounts of heat on your hair from tools like hair dryers, curlers or straighteners; they will only damage and dry out your hair. Do not shampoo your hair too much either because that will also have adverse affects or dry out your scalp.

Shampoo on your hair is important to remove all the dirt and residue, but it can be harmful if done too frequently. With a little extra time and care you can keep your curly hair healthy and vibrant all summer long.
