Many women find it difficult to deal with female arousal and are not exactly sure how to go about dealing with their sexual desires. The first thing that everyone should know is that there is a difference between sexual arousal and sexual desire, although most people think they are one in the same. The general population of women does not experience sexual problems, which means that libido and arousal are so closely related that they are hard to separate. Generally, libido refers to a basic interest in sex and can even be referred to as the sexual appetite of a woman. The term arousal refers to the physiological response that one receives from sexual stimuli. Typically, if women have a higher libido, then they will also have a greater response to sexual stimuli, which is ultimately arousal. There are many physical signs of sexual arousal in a woman like vaginal lubrication and an increase in blood flow to the labia, clitoris and vagina.

So, the first step is to understand the difference in terms, but the obvious next question from women is how can I increase my sexual arousal? The easiest and most common way for a woman to see a decrease in her sexual arousal is having a reduced amount of vaginal lubrication. This is a relatively easy thing to deal with if it came naturally because there are many different vaginal lubricants that you can purchase at drug stores. Also, if you have are suffering from a decrease in vaginal lubrication that is caused by menopause then hormone replacement therapy can help. Actually, this is the only approved drug therapy for this disorder.

There are also many different medications that can help to increase your vaginal lubrication. Viagra and a class of medications known as the alpha adrenergic blockers, such as Regitine, have been known to increase the vaginal lubrication response to sexual stimulation. However, there can also be side effects to taking prescription medications, so it is important to discuss the potentialities with your physician. Some women have complained of suffering from a decrease in sexual pleasure as a result of taking Viagra, so this may be something you should consider before taking that type of medication. It is never a good idea to substitute one problem for another. So, if you are concerned with your lack of female arousal, then the best thing to do is try using some over the counter vaginal lubricant; it may be just what you need to get back in the game.
