Are you getting unwanted calls in the middle of the night? Do you need to find out if your spouse is cheating? Did you simply forget the address of the person you were supposed to have a business meeting with and need to find it out? Luckily, there are quick and easy solutions out there that will help you find the identity of that person.

One of the first things that I'd recommend you do if you are bold enough, is to call the person up or have someone you trust call up that person. Be inconspicuous in calling up the person. Remember that your purpose it to let the person reveal themselves to you.

Another strategy is to use a search engine like Google. Just type in the phone number and hopefully it will pull up some information regarding the identity. Chances are you won't find much info on cell phone users, but Google searches can be very helpful in finding out whether the phone call comes from a telemarketer or business.

Be very wary of sites that claim they offer free reverse cell phone searches. Most of these sites are scams and offer you false information. Just about the only thing that these services match up well is the city which is easily identifiable by the area code.

You can also use a free directory service which is basically the online version of a phone book. Whitepages, Anywho, and 411 all have very good sites. Again, these sites can't be used to identify cellphone users, but will identify registered landline and home phone numbers.

If you are certain the phone number comes from a cell phone, then another option is to subscribe to a cell phone directory. For a fee, you are given unlimited access to a database of phone numbers. I would not recommend this option because these sites are usually poorly updated and have very little info. You'd have to subscribe to more than one website to get the info you need, which makes this an expensive and time consuming option.

In my opinion, your best option is to use a reverse cell phone search lookup. They're easy to use and relatively inexpensive. You simply type in the phone number and a report comes back with the name, address, carrier, and connection status of the number. If you want to go further with your investigation, you can run a background check on the person which pulls up information like criminal records, divorce decrees, and credit worthiness.
