The Batman/Superman Movie is an animated film released in 1998. The World’s Finest team up needs to battle the Joker, who is cooking up a new scheme with Lex Luthor. Joker’s a little strapped for cash and he offers his services to Lex Luthor by claiming he can destroy the Man of Steel with his Kryptonite statue. The Dark Knight Detective discovers his evil scheme, follows Joker to Metropolis, and lets Superman know about the plan. While this is happening, Superman and Batman’s real life alter egos keep crossing paths in real life, and Burce Wayne dates the reporter Lois Lane.

Brandon Routh plays the Man of Steel in Superman Returns, the first Superman movie to be released ever since the Superman trilogy produced in the 1970’s and 1980’s. He was born in Iowa and spent most of his childhood in the state. He went to the University of Iowa and was a part of several productions at the Norwalk Theater of Performing Arts. His first TV role was in the ABC TV series Odd Man Out in 1999. The following year he guest starred in the TV show Undressed and Gilmore Girls. Before starring in Superman Returns, he went as Superman in a Halloween costume contest, only to receive the film role of Superman the following year.

Brandon Routh of Superman Returns just informed fans that he will be working on the next Superman movie installment, Superman: Man of Steel, early 2009 with Bryan Singer as the director. He mentioned this during a press conference promoting his new project, a horror series called Fear Itself, which will air its pilot episode on June 5. According to Routh, Bryan has been keeping him up to date about the pre production plans, and a script will be finalized later in 2008. Brandon Routh hopes that he’ll be taking on more villains in the next installment and that he’s been maintaining a workout routine to stay in shape.

The rumors are true – Marvel studios will be bringing a Superman vs Spider Man movie to audiences all over the world by 2012. Joanne Siegel will produce the project and will be going on a rather nontraditional route. Sam Raimi and Bryan Singer will be directing the crossover flick, with Raimi directing the Peter Parker/Spider Man sequences and Singer directing the Clark Kent/Superman sequences. Alvin Sargent was hired to write the screenplay adaptation. Jake Gyllenhaal will also be replacing Tobey Maguire as Spider Man/Peter Parker. Brandon Routh will not be playing the Man of Steel, but there’s still no word as to who will be replacing him. The Superman vs Spider Man movie is the first of a trilogy of Superman vs Marvel crossover movies.

Look, Up in the Sky: The Amazing Story of Superman is the history of Superman and his various media incarnations. Focusing more on the movie adaptations instead of the comic books, the documentary shows how Jerry Siegal and Joe Shuster created the character of Superman in 1938 and started a whole new genre in fantasy. The film shows in depth interviews with creators as it traces how the character of Superman moves from times when he was irrelevant to his prominent place in pop culture today. Interesting and trivia are also revealed did you know that Superman was originally designed to be a telepathic villain? Anyone who’s a big fan of Superman or pop culture should not miss out on this insightful documentary.
