One of the first things you need to consider in getting back with your ex is changing the pattern you had become accustomed to in your relationship.
Consider this, if that pattern was something you followed to the letter day in and day out then you become predictable. Some people like predictability but many don't and it's time to break out of that routine. If you're not willing to do this then your chances of a reconciliation will be forlorn.
Since you were dumped out of the relationship for whatever reason, you need to make some changes to the way you look, feel and act. We're not talking major changes just subtle ones but enough to strike a spark to re-ignite some interest in your ex for you.
For example, your dress sense. If you liked to wear a particular style of clothing whether it be good dress sense or bad then that may have be something which eventually contributed to your relationship's demise. You could have become attached to a particular pair of trousers, shirt, sweater or cardigan.
If your ex continually suggested you go out and get yourself some new clothes but you resisted or just kept putting it off then mark this down as one of the reasons he/she may have become fed up with you.
But how can something so trivial contribute to a break up? It's not so much that one particular thing but a combination. Freshness in a relationship can be as trivial as a new piece of clothing occasionally. If you're desperate in getting back with your ex then make this one of your priorities.
Smell can be another major issue. When the relationship starts to wane then bad memories become linked to certain smells and dare we say it, sights. The sight could very well have been you but there is a strong chance that it may be linked to the smell of a scented fragrance you may have worn or it could have been a smoking issue.
The message here is if you're even half serious in getting back with your ex then presenting yourself without making some changes to your appearance of behavior is probably not going to "get your leg back in the door."
It's all about starting on fresh ground, yes, even as if you were to meet for the first time again but if you turn up wearing that same tattered old shirt or with a cigar in your mouth, then chances are you won't get off the batting mound.
